THE JOB:

Market Owners inhabit a unique position at the heart of VEG’s mission, providing critical management and oversight of a “market”, a geographical area with 6-12 hospitals. While hospital leaders are responsible for managing the functions of their individual hospitals, they ultimately report to their Market Owner. The Market Owner, more than anyone else, is responsible for both the growth and success of their hospitals and employees within their market. Your goal as a VEG Market Owner is to facilitate and maintain the same level of world-class patient and customer care that’s expected at all VEG hospitals. You are the owner of everything that happens in your market, so the buck stops with you

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

In order to successfully run VEG hospitals the VEG way, our Market Owners must ensure:

  • The customer experience at your VEGs: Understand and own the customer experience at a level that builds trust with the community and makes VEG the “go to” emergency clinic for pet owners in your market.
  • VEGs’ reputation with referring vets: Create and drive partnerships with referring vet practices in your market, becoming the obvious place for neighboring clinics to refer their patients.
  • The operational excellence at your VEGs: Build and sustain operational excellence at your VEGs, ensuring your hospitals are equipped with the right tools, systems, staffing, and inventory.
  • The clinical excellence at your VEGs: Strive for your hospitals to become the leader in clinical excellence both within your market and across all of VEG. Through the oversight of clinical care, your staff feel supported and empowered.
  • The financial performance of your market: Manage the financial performance of your market to ensure your hospitals are thriving and set up for growth and continued success in the future.
  • The talent in your market: Build your market to be a beacon for talent by attending local conferences, creating a culture of referrals, and building out succession planning for key roles in your hospitals.
  • VEG’s brand and reputation in your market: Grow VEG’s brand and reputation in your market, raise awareness about VEG’s mission, and be an active member of your community by giving your time and resources to causes that matter.
  • The growth and development of your market: You know your market inside and out. You not only monitor the internal performance of your hospitals, but external trends to stay at the cutting edge.
  • The happiness of all VEGgies at your hospitals: Embody the culture of VEG by living it day in and day out. Market Owners want every VEGgie in their market to feel successful, happy, and heard - helping employees break down any barriers in their path.
