How We Hire
Interested in applying for a role at VEG? Here's what to expect from the hiring process!
How It Works
The path to becoming a VEGgie

01. Apply
No need to be flashy.
Just submit your resume and show us why you’re ready to say yes to the unexpected. Let your passion and people-first mindset shine through.

02. Interview
Bring your curiosity, your realness, and your love for helping people and their pets.
We’ll ask questions, and we hope you do too. This is about finding the right fit—on both sides. The interview process may look a little different depending on the role you’re applying for, so if you’re working with a tight timeline or need a decision sooner, let your talent manager know.
Depending on the role you are interviewing for, we may ask you to complete a short clinical skills assessment and a case study.

03. Decision
If it feels right for you and for us, we’ll ask you to join the team.
And then we’ll get to work—side by side—changing emergency medicine.

FAQ
Common questions about the hiring process at VEG
I’ve got an interview - what can I expect?
First off, congrats! Your first chat will likely be with one of our recruiters. It’s a chance for us to learn more about you and for you to learn more about us and the role. If there’s a match, we’ll invite you to meet some VEGgies from the team. Our interviews are conversational and collaborative—we want to see how you think, what drives you, and what excites you about emergency medicine. We’ll also make sure you know exactly who you’re meeting and what to expect. You’ll never be left in the dark.
Can I get feedback on my interview?
We believe feedback helps people grow—and helping people grow is kind of our thing. While we can’t always offer detailed notes after every interview, when we can, we will. Either way, we’ll make sure you’re not left guessing.
When will I hear back after my final interview?
We know waiting is the worst, and we’ll always aim to get back to you within a few days. That said, timelines can vary depending on the role—especially if there are multiple people in the running—but your recruiter will keep you posted. If you’re ever unsure, just reach out.
Can I apply for multiple jobs at once?
Yes! You are welcome to apply for multiple roles at once. If you are interested in a role but unsure if you are eligible, feel free to email talent@veg.com.
What is the standard timeline for a final decision when applying for a role at VEG?
Timelines can vary depending on the role. You will be guided by your talent manager or hiring manager throughout the hiring process to ensure you're informed of the timeline and any updates.
What kind of growth/leadership opportunities does VEG offer?
VEG offers incredible opportunities for growth—both in leadership and clinical development. Whether you’re interested in leading teams or leveling up your hands-on skills, there’s a path for you here. Many of our nurses grow into roles like shift lead, nurse trainer, or even nurse manager, and we’re big on supporting those transitions with mentorship and resources. On the clinical side, we offer endless learning opportunities through in-house training, hands-on experience with ER cases, and our New ER Nurse Program, which is designed to help you build confidence and mastery in emergency medicine. At VEG, growth isn’t just encouraged—it’s expected (in the best way). We want every VEGgie to feel challenged, supported, and excited about what’s next.
What should I wear to a site visit?
Totally up to you! Scrubs or jeans, or whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. We're VEGgie, not judgy. Closed toe shoes please!
What is the skills assessment?
It’s a short, online assessment designed to help us understand where you currently land in our career framework. It’s not a pass/fail; it’s a way for us to make sure we’re supporting your growth with the right tools, training, and role from day one. Think of it as your launchpad, not a test.
