VEG veterinary nurses are highly skilled in ER care—performing blood transfusions, placing IO catheters, managing complex anesthesia, and delivering critical treatment during high-stakes emergencies.
You’ll be a core voice in patient care, from triage to rounds to recovery. And with access to advanced training in exotics and CPR, as well as our in-house CE programs, you’ll keep building skills and confidence in your craft. You’ll also have the chance to grow as a leader and thought partner, whether through our Nursing Case Report Night, which helps veterinary nurses step into public speaking, or through our campus ambassador program, which gives you the opportunity to mentor and give back to the next generation of veterinary nurses. Veterinary nurses are also eligible for equity after one year, so you can share in the growth you help create.
Whether your future is in leadership, training, or clinical excellence, VEG is here to help you grow into it—and recognize you for the veterinary superhero you already are.
Veterinary Nurses
a lifelong career in ER

As a VEG veterinary assistant, you’re a key part of the ER team from day one—performing hands-on tasks, learning from top talent, and helping to create an incredible experience for pets and their people.
You’ll be involved in everything from collecting samples to running diagnostic tests to administering medications and everything in between. You’ll contribute during triage and patient rounds and even train in RECOVER CPR.
The veterinary assistant role at VEG is a powerful entry point with real growth potential. You’ll have the chance to move into a supervisor role, earn credentials, and become a veterinary nurse, trainer, or team leader. Along the way, you’ll feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger.
