VEG scribes are redefining what early-career experience in vet med can look like. This first-of-its-kind role provides a front-row seat to emergency care and lets you partner directly with doctors to document cases, translate lay language into medical records, and capture the meaningful moments that define each patient story.
Scribes help keep workflows smooth so doctors can focus on care, not charting. It’s an ideal opportunity for pre-vet students; you’ll observe fascinating cases from start to finish, collaborate with the entire medical team, and gain real clinical insight while working three to four 12-hour shifts per week—a schedule designed to be immersive, yet livable.
Many of our scribes go on to veterinary or technician school, but no matter where you take your career, the scribe role is a launchpad for hands-on knowledge, teamwork, and understanding the ER from the inside out.

When customers walk into a VEG hospital, it’s one of the scariest moments of their lives. That’s where CECs come in. You’re the calm in the chaos, offering structure and support, as well as warmth, empathy, and connection. This is where heroic helping begins.
Think of it like being the ultimate host: anticipating needs before they’re spoken, offering comfort without being asked, and keeping everything moving smoothly. From circulating the hospital floor to preparing snacks and drinks, you’re always one step ahead—whether you’re checking customers in, helping them understand financial decisions, or following up with their referring vet.
You’ll keep the ER workflow on track, communicate with clarity and kindness, and make sure the entire experience feels seamless from start to finish. Whether you’re brand new to vet med or bringing customer service skills from another world, this role is a chance to grow in a non-desk job, connect with amazing people, and be a crucial part of something that really matters.
